I got agitated by one of the shop owner (a chinese female in the 30++'s) in Tampines Central just now around 9pm. I was sending Winnie home and was dropping by one ABC shop beside the MacDonald Restaurant near the Tampines Interchange to buy some batteries for my new torch. It was ages ago since i bought big batteries (commonly bought is AAA or AA batteries) therefore im so unsure on the price. Here's how the story goes; Shop: Buy 1 get 1 free. Me: *Looking around and found Brand A batteries in a twin pack* Excuse me, how much is this? She: $1.30. Me: So its buy one get on free right? She: *Pointing to the pack* Its one piece for $1.30! (speaking quite harshly, however it sounds so stupid to charge a piece of battery when its in a twin pack). Me: Ok. *Saw another brand B battery with a label inside the battery container that states $2.50 buy 1 get 1 free* *Another customer comes in, an old uncle around his 50's* She: *smiles and attend to him promptly and courteously* (he was buying a small masking tape by the way). Me: *took 2 packets of brand B batteries and hand it other to her* How much? She: $3. Me; Huh? I tot $2.50? Inside got state $2.50 buy 1 get 1 free leh. She: *look inside the container, took out the price card and spoke harshly pointing towards the 3 container which was next to another using the price card* This one $2.50 (medium batt), this one $3.00 (big one), this one $4.50 (brand C). (It was obvious that its her shop fault to place the wrong price card in the wrong container) Me: Ok *hand over $3 and walk away without replying to her thanks. Her accent doesn't really sounds like a local chinese to me. I was so damn pissed off by her attitude and even tot of talking back to her in Mandarin and shoot her ass off. What makes me further angry was her change in attitude when the chinese uncle came. Damn, was she a racist? Winnie was with me at that time by the way. I had so much fun with Winnie earlier yet got infuriated by the terrible shopping experience with tat stupid racist bit*h in the later part. Should i be writing to the press to somehow remind their shop on the poor working attitude towards customers? I dunno if i should. Any advise?
